It was a good run, but Wayne County unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 7-4 to Santa Fe. Wayne County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santa Fe apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Graeme Polk was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Santa Fe, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

Coming up, Wayne County will challenge Perry County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
