Softball Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

Russell came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Great Falls Bison by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. Rustlers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bison since on Thursday.

Hailey Marr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Georgia Hatzenbeller was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Russell and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Great Falls, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
