Waverly Central had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Perry County Vikings by a score of 52-45 on Tuesday. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kaylee Byrd and Andalyn Weatherly certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Byrd posted 13 points along with six assists and five boards, while Weatherly went 6 of 8 on her way to 17 points. What's more, Weatherly also racked up four rebounds, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Kristan Duncan was another key player, putting up nine points.

Waverly Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Perry County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Waverly Central and Perry County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings.
