Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Presidents vs. Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders

The Roosevelt Presidents will venture away from home to challenge the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three contests.

Roosevelt is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Wallkill: they outscored them in every quarter. Roosevelt put the hurt on Wallkill with a sharp 59-38 victory on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Monroe-Woodbury earned a 54-47 win over Minisink Valley on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Roosevelt better keep an eye on Jamie Reich. He was instrumental in Monroe-Woodbury's win, putting up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Johnson, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points.

Monroe-Woodbury was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Monroe-Woodbury back to even at 5-5. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Roosevelt was dealt a bruising 75-36 defeat at the hands of Monroe-Woodbury in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Roosevelt, Jankarlos Mendoza (who went 7 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
