Soccer Game Preview: Farmersville vs. Gainesville

Farmersville is 0-4 against Gainesville since February of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Farmersville Farmers will host the Gainesville Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Gainesville better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Farmersville really get things going. Farmersville never let Bonham onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Wednesday. The Farmers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Farmersville used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Bonham. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Felix Maldonado, Michael Vasquez, and Christian Aguilar. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Vasquez put up one assist, while he put up one assist.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gainesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Bonham on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Leopards needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Their offense was hitting Bonham from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Sergio Saenz led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Gainesville pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Farmersville, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
