Softball Recap: Thousand Islands Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Thousand Islands dropped their record down to 12-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Port Byron Panthers, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered since May 23, 2024.

As for Port Byron, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Port Byron's part, not much got past Jenna Jump, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Thousand Islands off the board. Jump has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luciana Debois, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mallory Mills, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Thousand Islands nor Port Byron have any future games scheduled.
