Football Recap: Mountain Grove Beats Salem for Their Sixth Straight Win

Mountain Grove entered their tilt with Salem on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 30-6 margin over the Tigers. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Tigers are ranked 269th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Braydon Curtiss, who rushed for 195 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Aden Estep, who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Mountain Grove's record now sits at 6-1. As for Salem, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mountain Grove will face off against rival Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 836 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Salem is set to take on their familiar foe Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
