Preview: Concordia Mustangs vs. Blair Bears
Concordia has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Blair Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Concordia struggled with threes on Saturday (Mercy had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Concordia took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mercy.
Despite the loss, Concordia had strong showings from Charis Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds, and Eliza Schmidt, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Blair's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 49-42 to Elkhorn. While losing is never fun, Blair can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Elkhorn is ranked 35th).
Blair's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addie Sullivan, who scored 11 points, and Laynie Brown who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season.
Concordia's loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Blair, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
