Soccer Game Preview: Brookfield Central vs. Nicolet

The Brookfield Central Lancers will challenge the Nicolet Knights on Thursday. Brookfield Central knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Nicolet likes a good challenge.

Brookfield Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Slinger. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Brookfield Central's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Slinger are ranked 105th).

Nicolet hadn't beaten Homestead on the road since May 10, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Knights came out on top against the Highlanders by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Nicolet.

Nicolet's win bumped their record up to 11-8-1. As for Brookfield Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Everything went Brookfield Central's way against Nicolet in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Brookfield Central made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
