Football Recap: First Baptist Christian Falls Short Against Ranked John Paul the Great Academy

First Baptist Christian faced John Paul the Great Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles were dealt an 82-0 defeat at the hands of the Guardians. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Guardians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Judah Pritchard threw for 79 yards on three of ten attempts. Gavin Francis was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.

Riley Lormand had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 267 yards and six TDs on only 12 carries for John Paul the Great Academy. Those six rushing touchdowns gave Lormand a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Charpentier, who rushed for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

First Baptist Christian now has a losing record of 3-4. As for John Paul the Great Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

First Baptist Christian has already played their next game, a 60-0 victory against Mount Olive Christian on the 2nd. As for John Paul the Great Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-0 win against Acadiana Christian on the 2nd.
