Basketball Recap: Rosman Comes Up Short

Rosman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Mitchell Mountaineers 57-19. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 201st).

Marlee Carnathan was Rosman's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Carnathan also led the team in rebounds with eight. Zoey Owen took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Rosman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Mitchell, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Rosman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-43 victory against Owen on the 31st. As for Mitchell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-45 win against Cloudland on the 1st.
