Eureka made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,890 from 5,127. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-7 victory over Del Norte last week.
McKinleyville led Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 in scoring this week by notching 52 points on Arcata.
Thanks to the talents of Jake Rohn and Connor Cox, the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Rohn is tops in the league in passing with 238 yards, while Cox has rushed for 346 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Loggers' Marcus Finney, with 88 yards on 2 catches.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Eureka's Finney goes up against Arcata's Colin Cossolotto.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Dave Filippini's team and Jason White's team face off next week.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Fortuna takes on the Warriors. At the moment, the Huskies are in second, while Del Norte is in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Loggers and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Eureka comes in having scored 43 this season, while Arcata has scored 31. The Loggers scored 35 points last week as they topped Ray Rook's team.
