Softball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Seneca Bobcats

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Seneca Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Blue Ridge barely beat Landrum the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Blue Ridge blew past Landrum 17-9 on Monday. The Fighting Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Chloe Manley and Khloe Metcalf did most of the damage at the plate: Manley scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Metcalf went 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that Metcalf launched this season. Bella Sands was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Seneca made easy work of Easley on Friday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Seneca's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Blue Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Blue Ridge might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Seneca in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can Blue Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
