Basketball Game Preview: Panther Creek Catamounts vs. Green Level Gators

Panther Creek and Green Level are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Panther Creek Catamounts are taking a road trip to take on the Green Level Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Panther Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over Cary.

Meanwhile, Green Level had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Cougars 71-51. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Cougars are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Panther Creek is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Green Level, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Panther Creek came up short against Green Level when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 59-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Green Level's Israel Eatman, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. Now that Panther Creek knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
