Softball Recap: Grapevine Victorious

Grapevine won against Birdville last Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Mustangs never let the Richland Royals get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Bella MacMahon's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grace Kelley, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Snyder was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Grapevine's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Richland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10-2 record this season.

Grapevine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Richland, they will square off against Colleyville Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
