Baseball Recap: Walters Takes a Loss

Walters lost to Wilson last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Walters might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-2 to Wilson, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Walters has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Walters saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Jones has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Walters' defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Wilson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walters will welcome Waurika at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.6 runs per game on average), something Walters will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilson, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Healdton at 4:30 p.m.
