Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Franklin County

Northside is 1-9 against Franklin County since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will look to defend their home pitch against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Northside has given up an average of 4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northside is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Hidden Valley, falling 6-1.

Meanwhile, Franklin County put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Patrick Henry as they made off with a 5-1 victory. Considering Franklin County have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklin County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Northside suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Franklin County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
