Baseball Recap: Wellington Comes Up Short

Wellington came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-2 to the Holy Family Tigers.

Tanner Gray was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Holy Family, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6.

Coming up, Wellington will take on Severance at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Silver Knights have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Holy Family, they will square off against Niwot at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
