Baseball Recap: Exeter Township Victorious

Exeter Township extended their postseason success on Saturday against West York Area. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 22nd.

Gavin Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Exeter Township let Chase Youse and Carter Redding run wild. Youse went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run, while Redding went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Youse a new career-high. Jake Hafer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Exeter Township's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for West York Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Exeter Township will face off against Conestoga Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Buckskins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. West York Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
