            Volleyball Recap: Etowah Eagles vs. Marist War Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Etowah faced Marist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles took  a  2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the War Eagles. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing  2-0 to the War Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Mianna Brown paced Etowah's offense, picking up five kills. Brown got some help from  Kayla Harman and her eight assists.
 Marist found their leader in freshman  Sawyer Straley, who  had 12  digs and one assist.
Etowah's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Marist, the  win was  the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-3.
 Etowah will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodstock at 5:00  p.m.  on October 2. As for Marist, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  2-0  victory against North Cobb Christian on the 18th.
