Basketball Recap: Xavier Prep Comes Up Short

Xavier Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Twentynine Palms Wildcats. The Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 49-44.

Ayden OGilvie was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds for Twentynine Palms. OGilvie has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Crowell, who posted nine points and three steals.

Xavier Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Twentynine Palms, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-14.

Xavier Prep will challenge Valley View at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Twentynine Palms, they will take on Coachella Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 7th.
