Basketball Recap: Research Triangle Charter Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Research Triangle Charter Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 67-43 to the Triangle Math & Science Academy Tigers on Friday.

Triangle Math & Science Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jailen Hawkins, who went 10-for-15 to rack up 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayyoub Baianonie, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Triangle Math & Science Academy now has a winning record of 5-4.

Research Triangle Charter Academy has already played their next contest (against East Wake Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Triangle Math & Science Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-47 win against Research Triangle on the 12th.
