Volleyball Recap: River Pilots vs. Shenandoah Zeps

River lost against Shenandoah on September 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The River Pilots fell just short of the Shenandoah Zeps by a score of 3-2. The Pilots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 15-6.

Even though they lost, River was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in ten consecutive matchups.

River's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Shenandoah, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River will take on Martins Ferry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shenandoah, they will head out to square off against Union Local at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
