Basketball Recap: Okolona Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Okolona kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 74-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Houston Hilltoppers. The Chieftains were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Houston's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Coming up, Okolona will head out on the road to take on McAdams at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Chieftains will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Houston, they will be playing at home against Pontotoc at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
