Softball Recap: Centralia Panthers vs. Wabaunsee Chargers
Centralia lost against Wabaunsee on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers came up short against the Chargers, falling 9-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tessa Parthemer put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Malayna Becker was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Mylee Haug was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wabaunsee, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.
Looking ahead, Centralia will venture away from home to take on Onaga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wabaunsee, they will take on Chase County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
