Basketball Recap: Cathedral Academy Takes Down Andrew Jackson Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cathedral Academy walked away with it. They blew past the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors 73-49 on Saturday. The Generals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Cathedral Academy was led to victory by Bryce Ward and Kaden Whitledge. Ward on his way to 25 points, while Whitledge en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The contest was Ward's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Felix, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Cathedral Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andrew Jackson Academy only four assists.

Despite the loss, Andrew Jackson Academy still got an impressive performance from Hall Sease, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Sease has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Dicks, who scored 14 points.

Cathedral Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-12 record this season. Andrew Jackson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-9.

As of now, neither Cathedral Academy nor Andrew Jackson Academy have any future games scheduled.
