Recap: A.L. Brown Wonders vs. South Iredell Vikings

The A.L. Brown Wonders pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-55 to South Iredell. The result was an unpleasant reminder to A.L. Brown of the 56-41 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

A.L. Brown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ayanni Flood, who scored 17 points, and Sadie Faulkner who scored 17 points. Flood continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Trinity Robinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

A.L. Brown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for South Iredell, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A.L. Brown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Cox Mill is ranked 210th, while A.L. Brown is ranked 200th). As for South Iredell, they will be playing at home against Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mooresville is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
