Soccer Recap: Handley's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

After soaring to four goals the game before, Handley was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Liberty Eagles by a score of 1-0. Handley were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Liberty apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Handley fell to 7-1. As for Liberty, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2-2 and their overall record up to 2-2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Handley will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fauquier at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The timing is sure in Handley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Fauquier have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Liberty will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Sherando at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Sherando's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
