Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Saints vs. Desert Mountain Wolves

For the second straight game, Notre Dame Prep will face off against Desert Mountain. The Saints will challenge the Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame Prep is on a three-game streak of home wins, Desert Mountain a 12-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season), meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.

Notre Dame Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Desert Mountain on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost seven in a row.

For Desert Mountain's part, Notre Dame Prep's batters probably weren't too happy with Lilly 'Goose' Goodwin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 19 Ks (she gave up two walks). Goodwin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
