Volleyball Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Federal Hocking Lancers
After both having extra time off, the Eastern Eagles and the Federal Hocking Lancers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Eastern made easy work of South Gallia and carried off a 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-14.
Eastern relied on the efforts of Aubrey Quillen, who had 13 digs, and Kamryn Pollard, who had two aces. Izabelle Beekman also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, Federal Hocking got the win against Peebles on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
Federal Hocking walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-7.
Eastern's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Federal Hocking, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Eastern skirted past Federal Hocking 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September of 2020. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Lancers' Rory Jeffers, who had 24 digs and two aces.
