Recap: Brewer Patriots vs. Tournament Opponent
If the Brewer Patriots were riding high off their 75-36 takedown of Tournament Opponent on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brewer's2023 ended with a 59-45 loss against Tournament Opponent on Friday. The game was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but Brewer was outscored by Tournament Opponent in the second.
Brewer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austyn Holmes, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Cason Oden, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Tournament Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 44-194.
Brewer will be playing at home against Ardmore at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ardmore has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. Tournament Opponent's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bel Air at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. Bel Air has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
