Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Bears vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

The Cypress Creek Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Howell Silverhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Cypress Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to East River. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Falcons are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Lake Howell came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 66-54 win over the Seminoles.

Lake Howell pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Cypress Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Cypress Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake Howell when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win.
