Basketball Recap: Boonville Triumphs

Boonville lost to Mt. Vernon back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Boonville Pioneers managed a 51-46 victory over the Mt. Vernon Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Meyer Robb, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 22 points. What's more, Robb also posted a 70% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Greyson Buse, who posted 11 points.

The win got Boonville back to even at 9-9. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Boonville has already played their next match, a 62-40 defeat against Castle on the 15th. As for Mt. Vernon, they will square off against Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
