Basketball Game Preview: Sayre Eagles vs. Hollis Tigers

The Sayre Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Hollis Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Sayre took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Snyder with a sharp 48-24 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since January 11th.

Meanwhile, Hollis waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eagles 54-10. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Hollis' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points per game. As for Sayre, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Everything went Sayre's way against Hollis when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Sayre made off with a 49-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sayre since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
