Baseball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Takes a Loss

Riverview Sarasota came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Morgan Peggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 12 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Alastair Simonson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
