Basketball Recap: Buna Takes a Loss

Buna was the 47-18 winner over Splendora when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Buna Cougars took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Splendora Wildcats on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while the Wildcats are ranked 620th).

Buna has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Splendora, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Buna will face off against Hardin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Splendora, they will square off against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
