Concord is 0-3 against Quincy since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field against the Orioles at 3:45 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Concord needed a bit of extra time to put away Lenawee Christian. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 victory over the Cougars. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their one-run performance the match before.

Nate Fritz and Jordan Medellion made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Fritz struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Medellion didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. At bat, Fritz scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5, while Medellion scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dustin Hamilton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Gavin Riske, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Quincy posted their closest win since May 18, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hillsdale 8-6.

The team relied heavily on Christian Craven, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Estlow, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Concord has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Quincy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
