Softball Preview: Lodi Flames vs. Atwater Falcons
The Lodi Flames will be taking part in a tournament against the Atwater Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
Lodi is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 11, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 14-5 to Franklin.
Allison Frank made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arissa Torres, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, Lodi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only posted a batting average of .207.
Meanwhile, Atwater put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Pitman by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2.
Kylie Medina made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Medina was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Kaydence Armando and Mia Hendrickson did most of the damage at the plate: Armando scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Hendrickson went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Allison Brewer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
