Baseball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Platte County's Winning Streak

Platte County dropped their record down to 22-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 6-3 to the Truman Patriots. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

As for Truman, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

For Truman's part, Hayden Rogers made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rogers was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Cade Pleacher looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Reinhardt, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. McLane Graffeo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Platte County and Truman will both be playing Raytown the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pirates will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
