Basketball Recap: Lake Comes Up Short

Lake lost against Bay Springs back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lake Hornets lost 59-36 to the Bay Springs Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 49th).

Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Bay Springs, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake will square off against Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bay Springs, they will venture away from home to square off against Scott Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
