Mitchell faced Sturgis Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Kernels came out on top against the Scoopers by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Friday.

Addie Siemsen paced Mitchell's offense, picking up five kills. Siemsen really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kenna Soulek, racking up two apiece.

Mitchell's record is now 3-1. As for Sturgis Brown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Northwestern Area on the 30th. As for Sturgis Brown, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against St. Thomas More at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
