Softball Recap: Redbank Valley Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Redbank Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Clarion-Limestone Lions by a score of 6-5. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Avery Ortz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that she got this season. Natalie Troup was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Redbank Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Clarion-Limestone, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redbank Valley will take on East Forest/West Forest on Tuesday. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will head out to take on Lakeview at 4:15 p.m. on the 21st.
