Football Recap: Newport Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newport can now relate to. They were dealt a 37-6 loss at the hands of the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats on Friday. The Wildcats lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-12 score last time.

Jaden Conley threw for 129 yards and one touchdown. Kendell Buck-Barber was his top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and one score.

Parker Rudolph had a dynamite game For Kentucky Country Day., rushing for 111 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing yards Rudolph has posted since back in September.

Newport's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Kentucky Country Day, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Newport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kentucky Country Day, they will face off against Campbellsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
