Baseball Recap: South Stokes Takes a Loss

South Stokes easily dispatched Alleghany last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The South Stokes Sauras fell just short of the McMichael Phoenix by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Sauras were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phoenix earlier this season, when they won 9-6.

South Stokes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Turner, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Turner a new career-high in hits.

South Stokes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for McMichael, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, South Stokes will host Alleghany at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Stokes is facing Alleghany at the right time seeing as Alleghany is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for McMichael, they will head out on the road to take on Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Bartlett Yancey has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
