Recap: Capitol Lions vs. Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers

The Capitol Lions waltzed into Wednesday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Woodlawn-B.R. by a score of 64-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Woodlawn-B.R.'s defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelinee Stone, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Stone hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Roy Recasner iii, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.

Capitol pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Capitol won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wossman at 6:45 p.m. on December 7th. One thing working in Wossman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. Woodlawn-B.R. and Ascension Episcopal will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ascension Episcopal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Woodlawn-B.R. is ranked 107th).
