Volleyball Recap: New Albany Eagles vs. Lincoln Lions
New Albany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Lions. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lions since on Tuesday.
New Albany took Lincoln into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 21-25, 15-13.
Yashas Devulapally paced New Albany's offense, picking up 16 kills. Devulapally got some help from Austin Noreikis and his 37 assists. Noreikis was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.
New Albany's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Coincidentally, New Albany and Lincoln will both be playing Pickerington Central the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Lions will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
