Volleyball Game Preview: Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks will face off against the Palmer Ridge Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cheyenne Mountain is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th on Tuesday. They came up short against Lutheran, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Red-Tailed Hawks couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Cheyenne Mountain was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge had to endure a seven-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Discovery Canyon on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Bears not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30th (when they won 3-0).

While Palmer Ridge won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Cheyenne Mountain's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Palmer Ridge, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Cheyenne Mountain beat Palmer Ridge 3-1 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Will the Red-Tailed Hawks repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
