Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. Mauldin

Greenwood is 0-4 against Mauldin since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Greenwood Eagles will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Mauldin Mavericks at 7:00 p.m.

Greenwood is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Hillcrest on Thursday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 3-0. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mauldin kept a clean sheet against T.L. Hanna on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Having lost for the first time this season, Greenwood fell to 2-1. As for Mauldin, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Greenwood might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Mauldin in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Can Greenwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
