Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Has No Trouble Against Desert Mountain

Wiregrass Ranch's tournament run continued when they took on Desert Mountain on Saturday. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls greeted the New Year with with an 83-65 victory over the Desert Mountain Wolves.

It was another big night for Kj Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine assists. The match was his 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Gaines, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Wiregrass Ranch's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Desert Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Wiregrass Ranch will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Gibson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wiregrass Ranch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Desert Mountain, they will venture away from home to square off against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
