WPIAL A Big Seven recap Oct. 31, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sto-Rox, who took down 80th ranked Rochester, 25-0.

The Vikings moved up to 86 from 125 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL A Big Seven. Sto-Rox was able to make move up by beating the Rams 25-0.

South Side's dynamic duo of Jacob Berger and Nathan Block proved tough for Western Beaver to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Berger threw for 81 yards and one touchdown and Block had 81 yards receiving. Cameron McCoy helped South Side's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.

Zack Woznichak was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 74 yards as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart lost to the Golden Beavers. Tom Marra also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.

6-foot-0 quarterback Joe Salmen of Union Area is the league leader in passing yards this season with 519. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, South Side's McCoy has rushed for 732 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Miller. The Western Beaver star has 10 catches for 335 yards.

The Vikings extended the longest winning streak in WPIAL A Big Seven this week by beating Rochester, 25-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for Sto-Rox.
